Invicta Water Treatment
Our know-how has been gained over many years in both the theoretical and hard-won hands-on time on site.
Legionella Control
Risk Assessments
We have our own qualified and experience risk assessor covering general buildings through to more complex manufacturing and food sites. In our opinion risk assessments should be a living document that reflects the changes and uses of the building over time and how they impact on people. In particular the log book should be easy to use and fill out.
Tank Inspection, Cleaning and Disinfection
As part of our service contracts we inspect tanks every 6 months, and if they need cleaning or disinfecting we let you know and organise convenient times for the work to take place. We can do live disinfections in cases where the is high user load or a bacteriological problem that needs immediate attention.
Sampling
As part of the ongoing management of water storage and distribution systems sampling is a key activity which measures the health of your system. There are basic requirements for Legionella and TVC testing, however in certain cases other bacteria need to be measured. Our experience with other water supplies, like boreholes, and systems gives us great depth of knowledge. We also use advanced techniques like GCMS to fingerprint water supplies.
Chlorinations
Not all disinfection works require the use of chlorine (or hypochlorite). We offer alternative disinfection chemicals depending on the application and the end-user. For example, Thames Water insist on the use of hypochlorite for mains water works, whereas on sites with chlorine sensitive equipment we will use a peroxide based chemical. All our work will comply with L8 ACoP and BS6700. We can provide risk assessments, method statements, COSHH and material safety data sheets as necessary.
Remedial Works
Where we identify significant and potentially unmanageable control measures we recommend remedial works. This could be as simple as cutting out a dead leg or even tank removal. We understand that building services are modified and personnel change, which inturn can impact on the water quality. We try to recommend simple cost-effective solutions.
Cooling Towers
Over the years cooling towers have attracted bad press as their mismanagement can have lethal consequences. We have worked closely with one client and the HSE to ensure that all procedures were duly documented and signed off by all parties.
