Private Water Supplies

IWT has supplied and installed numerous water treatment systems in Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Herfordshire, Berkshire, Norfolk , Suffolk and East & West Sussex. Our service has helped several drillers and property owners fit their own treatment systems, using IWT for water sampling and consultancy services.

We can offer a full turn-key service starting with sampling the borehole, design and installation of the water treatment system and controls, and the ongoing maintenance/servicing.

The new Private Water Regulations have advocated a much more rigorous approach to risk assessment and management, with a tougher enforcement regime. IWT has been experience of meeting with EHO’s, and dealing with HPA requirements for water quality in large distribution schemes. We have a practical understanding on what is good practice and at the same time, what is cost-effective.

Water Treatment Packages
We offer standard filter and UV disinfection packages for individual supplies and larger filter and chlorination systems for larger supplies and private distribution networks.
Where iron and manganese are problematic we have a standard design to provide high quality wholesome water. It has taken some development but this system works even if the background concentrations vary, as they have done in the Weald of Kent, for example.
